The team at Canta is small but perfectly formed with an effective mix of specialism ranging from stakeholder engagement, creative communication methods and bespoke marketing design.

Arwyn Davies, Account Director

Arwyn is a Marketing graduate with a wealth of experience of planning, managing and delivering marketing and communications activities for organisations in the voluntary, public and private sectors. A former director in the Welsh Development Agency Food Directorate, Arwyn oversaw the management of a range of food industry initiatives where a key focus was developing partnership working in consultation with various organisations across Wales.

Since moving to work in the private sector, Arwyn has worked on a range of consultation and other marketing communications activities. Arwyn led a research project working with the Carmarthenshire RDP Local Action Group to investigate opportunities for joint working with other like organisations across Europe.

Now running Canta, a marketing agency that is part of Social Enterprise organisation Antur Teifi, Arwyn oversees the delivery of work for a range of clients in Wales.

Eleri Lewis, Account Manager

Eleri joined Canta with a breadth of creative media, educational, administrative and interpersonal skills and experience. Joining us from the Wedi 3/Wedi 7 programmes, Eleri brings valued expertise on communicating messages in an energising manner.

Her previous work includes researching and producing items on micro businesses, cafes and restaurants, B&B’s shops and other food outlets as well as researching items for summer holiday activity breaks for families including Castell Henllys, the Iron Age Hill Fort in Pembrokeshire, dolphin spotting in New Quay, Ceredigion and Twm Sion Cati Tregaron Walks.

Between August and October 2012 Eleri recently led an awareness campaign for St. Catherine’s Walk Shopping Centre in Carmarthen with the aim of increasing footfall. Utilizing her natural organisational skills, copy writing and advertising skills and generating maximum media attention whilst drawing on her wide range of contacts to ensure the success of the project.

Since January 2013, Eleri has had overall management of three projects commissioned by the Carmarthenshire Tourist Association with funding from RDP. The projects consisted of research work and the development of ideas for the Carmarthenshire Tourism Cluster Groups.

Ffion Wyn James, Communications Officer

Ffion joined us in 2014. A double graduate, she blends her academic background with the significant business and marketing experience gained in previous posts. Ffion has an appetite for work and a refreshing ‘can do’ attitude. She is fully bilingual with excellent organisational skills across tourism, business planning and strategic marketing.

Her work involves conducting in depth market research for various projects, identifying key trends that enable her to develop future strategies and recommendations.  As a communications officer she has close relations with local and national press that can be used when creating PR campaigns. Combined with this she is also in charge of creating and managing numerous social media campaigns aimed to deliver tailored messages targeted at a specific audience.

Notable achievements include project managing a new market research service called Perspectif for Antur Teifi. Her role included preliminary market research to identify the need for the service, competitive analysis and key stakeholder identification. Following this Ffion created a business and marketing plan for the development of the service. Here Ffion’s work included brand design, website creation, marketing leaflet creation and copywriting.

Previously Ffion was Marketing Officer at the Black Mountain Centre located at the foot of the Brecon Beacons. Here, Ffion’s role included all aspects of marketing and communication across the community generally whilst interacting with the wider tourism brief. She was lead officer on a 3 year Strategic Marketing Plan setting out a future sustainable vision for the Company including income generation targets and mechanisms for monitoring outputs and progress.

Charles Newman, Marketing Officer

From a background in Tourism Marketing  Charles has worked with a wide range of clients co-ordinating various marketing projects, developing market research projects, producing marketing strategy reports, as well as undertaking branding and  rebranding Identity tasks, His skills include WordPress website development and maintenance.

Charles is responsible for updating social media sites for our various projects and implementing online media campaigns and support through E- newsletter and mass texting and managing the contacts database.  Notable achievements include his work on developing a Food Tourism Partnership Report for Menter Cwm Gwendraeth/Carmarthenshire’s Rural Development Partnership and his contribution to the marketing campaign of the Welsh Quilt Centre which resulted in increased visitor numbers and quilt sales.

Charles has also developed marketing research and strategies for Bridgend Tourist Association and Countryside Council for Wales River Taff Tourism Project.
