Project: Public Relations on behalf of the A477 St Clears to Red Roses Road Improvement

The project consisted of 8.7km of new road and set many objectives consisting of improving the safety and journey time of the road as well as improving Wales’ economic competiveness by improving the links to west Wales, Ireland, the English trunk road network and Europe. The scheme was also designed to improve regional accessibility and mobility.

Canta was engaged by SRB Civil Engineering to provide a broad range of public liaison roles over a period of 24 months which culminated in the organising of the high profile opening of the road by Edwina Hart, the Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, in April 2014

Canta also took a supporting role in helping SRB in its aim to be an exemplar for the construction industry in Wales. The A477 St Clears to Red Roses Road Improvement Project was registered under the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The A477 site achieved a score of 41 out of 50 following the last audit in June 2013.
